Morphological and molecular diversity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi associated to Carica papaya L. rhizosphere in two agro-ecological zones in Cameroon

چکیده

The papaya tree is not very exploitable on the international market because of post-harvest decline fruits. In this study, we identified arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) from rhizosphere in two agroecological zones Cameroon (Njombe-Pendja: NP and Yaounde: Y). Morphological studies density, rate root colonization, diversity AMF species were evaluated. Molecular identification was performed by sequencing small subunit (SSU) 18S rDNA gene region soil samples. These genes amplified AML NS2 primers. total number spores per 100 g dry significantly different (P<0.05) depending sites, ranging 391 to 790 Y sites. frequency intensity colonization Eleven (11) belonging seven (7) genera (Scutellospora, Gigaspora, Acaulospora, Entrophospora, Funneliformis, Glomus Racocetra) recorded. Two (T1: Scutellospora rosa T6: Racocetra gregaria) recorded at absent Y. Shannon-Wiener index revealed a low species. Homogeneity analysis reveals that obtained have sizes 250 bp. Key words: Arbuscular fungi, Carica L., fungal, molecular morphological identification, rhizosphere.

Influence of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in sugarcane productivity under semiarid tropical agro ecosystem in India

Impact of Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in sugarcane productivity was assessed through a field experiment from plant and ratoon sugarcane in Tamil Nadu, India. Control, 12.5 and 18.75 kg ha-1 of AMF along with 75% and 100% of phosphorous application were triedas treatments. 18.75 kg ha-1 AMF applied plots showed significant difference in germination percentage, tiller number, internode...

Prunus persica Crop Management Differentially Promotes Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi Diversity in a Tropical Agro-Ecosystem

Due to the important role of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in ecosystem functioning, determination of the effect of management practices on the AMF diversity in agricultural soils is essential for the sustainability of these agro-ecosystems. The objective of this study was to compare the AMF diversity in Prunus persica roots under two types of fertilisation (inorganic, with or without manu...

Diversity of Rhizosphere Soil Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi in Various Soybean Cultivars under Different Continuous Cropping Regimes

Recent studies have shown that continuous cropping in soybean causes substantial changes to the microbial community in rhizosphere soil. In this study, we investigated the effects of continuous cropping for various time periods on the diversity of rhizosphere soil arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi in various soybean cultivars at the branching stage. The soybean cultivars Heinong 37 (an intermed...

Diversity of Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi and Their Roles in Ecosystems

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) have mutualistic relationships with more than 80% of terrestrial plant species. This symbiotic relationship is ancient and would have had important roles in establishment of plants on land. Despite their abundance and wide range of relationship with plant species, AMF have shown low species diversity. However, molecular studies have suggested that diversity of...

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi respond to increasing plant diversity

The effect of plant diversity (1, 2, 8, or 16 species) on arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) was assessed at the Cedar Creek Long-Term Ecological Research site at East Bethel, Minnesota, from 1997 to 1999. At each of the five samplings, AMF in 16-species plots produced from 30 to 150% more spores and from 40 to 70% greater spore volumes than AMF in one-species plots. Regressions of spore number...
